まとめ〜成虫小麦ゾウムシSitophilus granariusの抑制におけるオゾンの有効性

この調査の主な目的は、成虫小麦ゾウムシSitophilus granariusの抑制におけるオゾンの有効性を判断することでした。

実施された実験では、オゾン暴露のさまざまな期間がテストされました。オゾン毒性に加えて、小麦ゾウムシの歩行反応と速度を調査。結果は、これらの昆虫に対するオゾンの有害な影響を示しました。死亡率に加えて、オゾンは昆虫の速度と移動性にも悪影響を及ぼしました。オゾン処理の効率は、昆虫のオゾン暴露の増加とともに増加しました。処理された昆虫の歩行活動と速度を低下させるオゾンの能力は、貯蔵システムの害虫駆除における肯定的な特徴であり、それにより昆虫が処理された物体から逃げる可能性を減らします。

この調査の結果は、オゾンが単独で、または他の制御方法を補完するものとして、人間と家畜の貯蔵システムで有害な昆虫を抑制するための現実的な選択肢になる可能性があることを示唆しています。
